Is Going To The Gym Not For Women?

One of the most recognized methods of managing a healthy lifestyle is by means of weight training. Males are usually the ones who undergo this weight training exercises for some time. However, with the changing time, women have also been involved with this kind of activities recently.

Increase in women’s muscle size is one of the most common myths about muscle training for women. Weight training is now being encouraged for most women as opposed to aerobics and other forms of fitness training. Body building has been practiced everywhere by most women and they can now see the benefits it provides.

The biological composition between men and women must be considered to force out the false beliefs about body building for women. The male hormone, testosterone, is responsible for muscle hypertrophy (gaining muscle mass). Testosterone is produced naturally in a man’s body. While men produces testosterone in gaining muscle mass, women also generates testosterone but only very little amount as compared to men. It is therefore impossible for women to build up as much muscle mass as men because they produce only a small amount of testosterone which is the primary responsible in increasing muscles. It will actually be beneficial for women to go through muscle training program because it will make them slimmer, firmer and leaner. The only other method that will ensure that women gain bulky muscle mass, is the intake of testosterone supplements (testosterone steroids) by them, and an intense workout routine with it.

Gaining too much muscle mass is therefore far from reality if you are a woman who does not have heavy amount of testosterone hormone and is not taking testosterone supplements. Anyway, calories are burnt faster by someone who has leaner muscles. This is beneficial for women who want to free themselves from too much fat. While lessening fat, it is equally important to have muscle resistance which really helps a lot in building muscle mass. Certainly, a better, stronger and slimmer body will be achieved although it will not show a significant change in the numbers showing in your weighing scale. More muscle mass means healthier than more fat weight.

For more in-depth guidance, you might want to check out escalating density training, a weight training guide that can be used by anyone including women. Visit EDT training for more information about weight training safety.

Women should exercise for muscle resistance the same way as men do. Men and women are almost in the same page in terms of weight training, with a few exceptions because of the biological differences.
